We always start the New Year with aspirations to get active, fit & healthy. Ideally, these aspirations and goals should be broken down into short-term goals to make them more realistic.
Here are some of the realistic fitness goals that we think are achievable with consistency and dedication.
Morning stretches
Make stretching a part of your routine. Take a few minutes in the morning to do a few morning stretches to wake you up and a few minutes at night to help you wind down
Get a workout buddy
Team up with a friends or colleague to work out before the workday, make friends with people at your gym, or simply tell a friend you trust your fitness goals and ask for help staying accountable.
Instead of your usual coffee date or happy hour drinks to catch up with friends, suggest to join classes in your gym
Walk instead of drive whenever you can
The body is meant to be consistently active throughout the day, but most of us are sitting basically 24/7 at your work desk or at home binge-watching Netflixx.
Include walking everyday in your routine. If you’re going somewhere too far to walk, get off the bus a couple of stops early, park in a farther garage, or have your Uber drop you off a few blocks away.
Drink more water
Your body uses water for every function of the body and is very important in achieving your strongest, fittest self.
Add fresh ingredients to your water like lemons, mint, cucumbers, ginger, or fruit. Not only will it boost the nutrients, but it will also boost the taste
Drink a glass of water every single morning before you have a cup of coffee or a bite of food.
